The children were on their way to school when a cable smoked on the cable car around 365 meters above the ground. The chairlift they were in was then about halfway to the top in the remote mountain area. – The chairlift hangs from a single rope. There are at least eight people in the lift and most of them are school children, Abdul Basit Khan, a senior official of the provincial rescue agency, told AFP. Pakistan’s emergency agency has said six children and two adults are in the elevator, which hangs at a height of at least 274 meters.
