SAS removes Freia products – news Norway – Overview of news from various parts of the country

As of Thursday, SAS decided to stop the sale of Mondelez products on board its flights, SAS press manager Tonje Sund confirms to VG. – We have taken away products from Mondelez, which are on Ukraine’s International War Sponsors list, says Sund to the newspaper. It was at the end of May that Ukraine’s anti-corruption authority set up a blacklist of companies that contribute income to the Russian treasury. Freia owner Mondelez is one of the companies on the list. The American company’s boss Dirk Van de Put stated last autumn that Mondelez did not plan to withdraw from Russia, but he emphasized that they “do not contribute to the war in any way”. Mondelez has around 3,000 employees in Russia and, according to the Kyiv School of Economics, is the market leader in the sale of biscuits and chocolate in Russia. In 1983, Norske Freia was acquired by Kraft Foods, which in 2012 changed its name to Mondelez International.
