26 February 2024 at 20:03 Safety zone of 100 meters after gas leak The emergency services respond to a report of a gas leak in connection with excavation work in Elvegata in Sandnes. According to the police in Sør-Vest, they are unsure what gas it is, but it could be methane. The police are closing access in affected streets and the safety zone is set to 100 metres, starting at Elvegata 27. The police are also evacuating Mathallen and the restaurant Olivia. Residents do not need to evacuate, but people are asked to keep windows and ventilation closed.
