11 November 2022 at 10:48 Russian Andrey Yakunin indicted for drone flying, reports Nordlys The national prosecutor’s office has indicted Andrey Yakunin for breaching the Sanctions Act. He is charged with having flown a drone in Svalbard. That’s what Nordlys writes. The trial against him is scheduled for November 29. Yakunin is the son of a Russian businessman with ties to Vladimir Putin and was arrested in Hammerfest on Monday 17 October. He is charged with flying a drone illegally in Svalbard. The sanctions regulations prohibit Russians from operating aircraft and drones in Norway. The indictment states that he stayed on Svalbard in the period from 3 August to 6 September this year and flew a drone repeatedly during this period. (NTB)
