Run 14 marathons in 14 days – news Nordland

Holiday. A concept with many variants and recipes. Some users look forward to free time for renovations. Others stay at home, travel to the cabin or leave for warmer climates. They run 14 marathons in 14 days, go on roller skates up Galdhøpiggen and cycle the length of the entire country. Run 14 marathons in 14 days Trønder Hågen Fjørkenstad Dypdal and Bjørnar Veie are on their second leg in their attempt to run their marathon series. – It is moving forward slowly, but surely. Today is a slightly heavier day than yesterday, which was the first stage, says Veie. The marathon partners are on their second of a total of 13 stages. The Nordlandsruta is a 650 kilometer hiking trail that runs in the border areas between Norway and Sweden through Nordland. – The body looks perfectly fine. We don’t detect strain injuries so early and that’s what’s important, says Veie. He says that they are mentally prepared for heavier days to come. – It is nature and getting outside that motivates us. Then it’s about seeing what one is capable of, together with the adventurous spirit. The stages go between valleys in mountainous terrain with a lot of ascent. Depots with small supplies are laid out along the way, and on their backs they each have a sack of 12 kilos. This is the plan for the trip: Day 1. Thursday 28 July: Harvassdalen – Tverelvnes farm (37.2 km) Day 2. We had 1,400 meters of ascent from where we started walking, he says. Companion with normal footwear. Him on old, tired roller skates from Finn.no. On the trip up, they spent about eight hours. Willumsen says that he collects stories. It is the spirit of adventure, and the desire to find out if it is actually possible, that motivated the Bodøværing to the invention. – How was the atmosphere in the group? – Really bad at the end. But very good at the start. Then everyone was very much together, but gradually there was less and less talking. In the end, they were more excited to finish. They stopped so they could see me, and then I had to catch up with them. – But would you do it again? Willumsen laughs, and has no need to think twice: – No. – When we got to the top, the view wasn’t great. It was snowing and quite foggy, but it was nice to get there, says Willumsen. But when we had walked for an hour, I became more confident about it. When we stood there we were a little past the point of turning around. Cycling Lindesnes-Nordkapp At the same time, Maria Bech Urland is on her bike, heading towards Nordkapp. She started in Lindesnes. – I am completely obsessed with cycling. Last year, when I cycled from Oslo to my hometown Bjerka, I felt like cycling on, says the nursing student. The nursing student from Hemnes municipality in Helgeland is considering cycling abroad next holiday. Photo: Annika Schoonbrood She has therefore set aside a month to cycle 2,363 kilometers this summer. Although it is worth it, according to her, it is not always as pleasant. The day before the interview with news, she cycled 170 kilometres. It was not painless to go out on the seat the next day. She has a tent, wool, sleeping mat and sleeping bag with her on the trip. And an “air skirt”. – It was terrible weather, and then I got so much friction down there, she says with a laugh. She borrowed zinc salve from her cousin, while a stranger lent her the garage loft when the weather was worst. On the trip she slept in a tent regardless of the weather. Less kind people invite him into the heat. Photo: Private – A wonderful person offered me to sleep in his garage loft. He had a kind eye, so I took the chance. She keeps going with the “adrenaline kick” on the downhills, and gets warm on the uphills. Maria Bech Urland cycles day and night, and gets many nice motifs from the bike. Photo: Private Psychologist: – It’s healthy to set goals Many people yearn to break their routines during the holidays. Psychologist Eva Tryti says that setting ambitious goals that you train and plan for is something that lies in many of us. – Any challenge like this is exhilarating, especially for those who are thrill-oriented, says Tryti. And some simply have a little extra fleas in their blood, or get bored a little faster than others. Tryti has the sense that people have set goals. – We like to feel mastery, says the psychologist. Photo: Private – I think that is very healthy. But perhaps one should be a little critical of why one does it. Ask yourself if you can tolerate a somewhat quiet life as well. She has registered a trend of constantly topping various more extreme activities. She thinks it’s excessive, and not healthy, when “too much fashion goes into it”. – Not many years ago it was considered tough to walk Birken, and several people got jobs because they then had some special qualities. Now I think you must have run a marathon if it is to work as an entrance ticket to something. – What do you think of the trend you portray? – I am skeptical about that. When a thirteen-year-old walks in the forest for a week, another thirteen-year-old does not need to walk across Greenland.
