8 January 2023 at 10:50 River rises sharply in Åseral The water level in the river Fiksåna in Åseral in Agder rises sharply and the water is approaching the buildings in Fiskårdalen. – An ice jam has formed in Fiskårdalen so that the water is now about to reach the houses there. The water is about to reach all the way to the houses, one uninhabited and one inhabited, says emergency coordinator Odd Helge Liestøl in Åseral municipality. The municipality has sent people and excavators to the area to try to loosen the ice plug, so the water can flow freely.
