14 September 2023 at 22:07 Høgre gets the mayor of Sandnes Kenny Rettore from Høgre becomes the new mayor of Sandnes. Kristoffer Birkedal from FRP will be deputy mayor. It was confirmed at a press conference this evening. Høgre has been in negotiations with Ap, KrF and Venstre all day, but what they came up with did not get a majority in Høgre’s group. Høgre has therefore returned to the FRP, with whom they broke off negotiations yesterday. The FRP’s mayoral candidate, Pål Morten Borgli, has chosen to step aside, to put Sandnes ahead of himself. That’s what Kristoffer Birkedal said at the press conference this evening. Høgre and FRP have a majority alone in the municipal council.
