7 August 2024 at 07:22 Rescue operation of two climbers on Storen A rescue operation is underway on the mountain Storen Skagastølstind in Luster, where two climbers have come off the trail. They are approximately 2,200 meters high. There must be two foreign tourists, one man and one woman. The police received a message from the hikers at midnight and they are said to have had a dialogue with them throughout the night. It is not possible to fly to the climbers’ position due to the weather conditions. Three members of the Alpine rescue group have flown as far up the mountain as possible, where they continue on foot. – They have reported that they have sufficient equipment and clothing with them. They are unharmed, but wet and cold, says operations manager Tore-Andre Brakstad. Just two weeks ago, a similar rescue operation was carried out on the same mountain, where two hikers were rescued after an extensive rescue operation that lasted over 12 hours.
