It was in Monday’s episode of “24-star Christmas calendar” that Øyunn Krogh surprised the viewers. She and the other participants were tasked with creating a good Christmas atmosphere and making the Gjennestad family laugh. The participants had two minutes to make the family laugh the most times. The influencer went for the boldest tactic of them all, and decided to show his boobs. – I have a rough strategy. I’ve realized that if you don’t have any jokes, it’s smart to show your body. Actually a very cheap trick, but I’m going for it, says Krogh in the episode before she enters the Gjennestad family. There she undresses her upper body, and asks if they want milk for the coffee, while she squeezes her tits. The family themselves thought it was funny, and voted Krogh the winner of the competition. We were no strangers to breasts earlier in the season, when Emil Gukild tore off his shirt and showed off his chest in a dance competition. Everything is legal here, I thought. It wasn’t until afterwards that she realized what she had done. – Gradually I realized how sick it was that I did it, but I don’t regret it, says Krogh. – I think it’s more shocking when boobs are shown in a non-sexualized setting because we’re not used to seeing it. She further emphasizes that what she did was not a feminist statement, but an attempt at humour. – If you can show men’s boobs, you can show women’s boobs, says the influencer. Many of them have been negative. One person writes: “Hope someone can help her, she needs therapy, poor thing”. Another wrote: “No, there are no borders anymore. Disgusting. news should have stopped this.” – The reactions were no surprise. I have become well used to receiving ugly comments, says the influencer. For Krogh, it would have been worse if they had attacked her body. – I can’t help it, in a way, she says. But she has also received support. “Funny invention, with a good humorous element about milk for the coffee!” No problem publishing Mirja Minjares, project manager for “24-star Christmas calendar”, admits that the production was also surprised when Krogh took off his clothes: – “Oh, that was unexpected,” we thought. But it was not something we could control then and there. There was no reason to stop what was unfolding. When asked why news chose not to slander it, Minjares replies: – We see no greater reason to slander Øyunn compared to when, for example, Tete Lidbom or Emil Gukild take off their upper body in previous episodes. – What do you think about the reactions that have appeared in the comments section? – I am aware that many people think that breasts are something that we should be shielded from. But initially this was slightly sexualized behaviour, and since the family thought it was funny, we had no problem with publishing the content, says Minjares.
