The meteorologist says that if it were to happen somewhere, it would be on the coast of Trøndelag and Nordland. The reason for the phenomenon? There is a quite natural explanation. – The temperature in the air and where you are standing can differ quite a bit. There can therefore be water droplets in the cloud, even if there are temperatures down to minus 15 degrees on the ground. Warm in the sea For there to be a rainbow, raindrops are a prerequisite. Although it is minus degrees in Trondheim, it is around 0 degrees outside on the coast of Trøndelag. – It could be that these storm clouds coming from the coast are a little warmer. It is still quite mild over the sea, which can bring rain at the far end of the coast. In other words, it’s not so strange – but not everyday food when it’s as cool outside as it is now.
