It is now holiday time, but the queen had a busy schedule and several trips just before the summer holidays. At the end of June, the queen opened the newly restored artists’ home Astruptunet in Jølster in Sunnfjord municipality, and she presented the Queen Sonja Print Award 2024. The awarding took place in Bodø, European capital of culture this year, of which the queen – who is also an artist herself – is a high patron. At the time, King Harald and Queen Sonja had just completed a five-day county tour in Agder and Rogaland, where they were greeted with folk festivals in five municipalities that received an official royal visit for the first time. The royal couple aims to get around to all of the country’s 357 municipalities and is getting close to the goal. They are now only missing eleven municipalities.
