12 January 2023 at 13:48 Punished for violence at LO conference A shop steward in NTL, the Norwegian Servants’ Association, has been fined NOK 16,000 following the episode of violence during the LO conference at Pers Hotell before Christmas. This has been done after an overall assessment of the case according to police attorney Sandra M. Andreassen. Both parties have confirmed that they are aware of the prosecution decision. The proposal for bodily harm, (Section 271 of the Penal Code), has already been approved. It was one of the tops in the employers’ association Spekter who was injured during the LO conference on 24 November last year. According to the police, the man was lifted up by his tie and hit in the back of the head. – The investigation has not uncovered any motive between the parties that could explain the incident, and the two parties are said to have had no contact with each other in advance of the conference and little contact during the conference itself, says police attorney Sandra M. Andreassen to news on Thursday. The accused acknowledged the relationship unreservedly in the interrogation, which was carried out in December 2022.
