Fire Breaks Out in Residential Building in Rüsselsheim

A  fire  broke out yesterday evening on the roof of a residential complex in  Rüsselsheim , prompting a significant emergency response from the  fire department , police, and medical services.

Due to the  smoke  spreading through a ventilation pipe to the basement,  120 housing units  within the building had to be evacuated, as confirmed by the fire department. The affected residents were taken to a nearby playground for safety. Fortunately, there were no reported  injuries  among the residents.

Authorities are still investigating whether the fire is linked to ongoing work on the roof. Initial reports indicate that the fire ignited the  wooden cladding  of ventilation pipes and roofing felt. Firefighters and workers were able to extinguish the fire quickly. According to preliminary estimates by the police, the damage is expected to reach approximately  €50,000 .
