The princess was the older sister of King Carl Gustaf and lived for many years in Mallorca. Princess Birgitta and her husband had three children together and lived in Munich for a long time, but she moved to Mallorca when they were separated in 1991. She left behind children Prince Carl Christian of Hohenzollern (b. 1962), Princess Désirée of Hohenzollern (b. 1963) and Prince Hubertus of Hohenzollern (b. 1966).
