– We will have full pressure on the search throughout the evening and probably into the night as well, says police task leader Patrick Vollen to news on Monday afternoon. For over a day, large forces have been looking for the 7-year-old who got away from his family on a hunting trip northwest of Vigeland in Lindesnes on Sunday at 1.45pm. We have two drones, two helicopters that are on their way in now from Rygge and Sola. In addition, we have 16 dog crews, says Vollen. The police hope and believe they will find the boy alive and are increasing the search area from where the boy was last seen. – The commitment among the search crews is tremendous. We have a sincere hope that we will be able to achieve this, says the task leader. At the same time, the police state that, as of Monday afternoon and evening, there is no need for more unorganized people in the search. According to the police, the family lost contact with the boy at around 1.45pm. The family were on their way to a cabin they managed in the area. The boy is a native of Lyngdal. The crisis team in Lyngdal is connected. – We are on standby. It is a terrible situation, and it is a difficult day for many in the municipality, says Mayor Unni Nilsen Husøy (Frp) in Lyngdal. Photo: Ina Marie Sigurdsen / news Discovery of sunglasses Around 10.30 on Monday morning, a pair of sunglasses were found around 700 meters from the starting point of the search. – We attach the glasses to the seven-year-old, says operations manager Øyvind Hægeland. – It is difficult to know how much weight we should place on this, but a helicopter and drone have started to search the area where the sunglasses are found. It was VG who reported the discovery first. – We have no thoughts that anything criminal has happened, says task leader Patrick Vollen. A police helicopter, rescue helicopter and heat-seeking drones were used during the night. The forest terrain in which the search is made is demanding, with a lot of wet bog. The search area is several square kilometers. The Home Guard, the civil defense and a number of volunteers both from large parts of Agder and Rogaland are assisting. – The biggest challenge is to search thoroughly and have enough people and enough equipment. Trained rescue teams arrive from Rogaland and from the far east of Agder. Rescue dogs come from Rogaland that have run down. It is moving to experience, says Andersen to news. – This says something about the fact that this is an emotional issue that affects people.
