15 December 2023 at 15:33 Gyda Westvold Hansen won the women’s World Cup combined in Ramsau Gyda Westvold Hansen took the lead, defended her lead and took the season’s third straight World Cup victory in the combined. It was Westvold Hansen’s 20th victory in 22 starts in the World Cup. She beat teammate Ida Marie Hagen by 42 seconds. Difficult conditions in the jumping hill meant that Thursday’s provisional jumping round counted. Westvold Hansen finished 26 seconds ahead of German Jenny Nowak and Finnish Minja Korhonen. The latter came third at the age of 16. Ida Marie Hagen entered the cross-country race in fourth place (32 seconds behind). She had never been closer to Westvold Hansen this season. The Nansen athlete had a slightly too bad landing in the provisional round and lost many points there. Halfway through the track she had only gained ten seconds. Hagen more or less gave up on the last round. Marie Leinan Lund started as number eight, but advanced only one place. Sister Marte Leinan Lund moved up five places from her 14th place. It was a Norwegian triple with Gyda Westvold Hansen, Ida Marie Hagen and Mari Leinan Lund in both races in Lillehammer a couple of weeks ago. (NTB)
