It has boiled over in social media in recent days, after Dagbladet told the story of the violent incident in Kongsberg last autumn. All other media have also covered the case closely, and the episode has been discussed in several debate programs on TV. Kevin Simensen (26) and his mates have recounted their experience of the incident, but little has come from the police. – It is tough for him to be hung out like this. The case is presented one-sidedly, and there is always more to the story than what is shown in a video, says the policeman’s lawyer John Christian Elden to news. On Saturday morning, a security guard told his version of the incident, and he claimed that both he and the police were subjected to threats. Siemens refutes this. Kevin Simensen (in the middle) has reported to the police. Comrades Kristian Teigen and Marius Stormo are witnesses in the case. He has spoken to his client but did not elaborate on what happened. – He was there to carry out a mission, says Elden. Simensen was initially reported in the case after the row at the petrol station in Kongsberg, but has since reported to the police. The Bureau has issued an indictment against one of the policemen for unnecessary use of violence. In recent days, the policeman has been both identified and harassed in social media, which Elden reacts strongly to. The lawyer tells news that it is not relevant for the policeman to tell his story himself in the media now. Felt threatened The watchman, who wants to nuance the stories that first became known in the media, says that Simensen was refused entry to a night club in the city center after an argument with the watchman. According to the watchman, Simensen must have tried to get back in, without success. Then he is said to have made threats to “break the face” of the watchman. In police questioning, the security guard said that Simensen pulled a finger across his throat, and that he perceived this as a threat that he was going to cut his throat. Therefore, the watchman contacted the police who were standing at the Esso station not far away. The incident happened here on 30 October last year. Photo: Eirik Sørenmo Påsche / news – No threats Kevin Simensen denies all the allegations made by the security guard. – Nothing was ever said that could be perceived as threats. It is pure fabrication, he says to Dagbladet. On Friday, news met Simensen and two comrades who were present during the events in October last year. Simensen says he gets anxious when he sees dark-clad people in the reflection, or hears the rustling of keys or observes blue lights with sirens. – I can’t stand being alone or going out after dark. I would rather not go alone at all, says Kevin Simensen. Kevin Simensen’s face was visibly damaged after the incident on 30 October last year. Photo: Private Policeman deleted video There are a total of three police employees at the South-Eastern Police District who have been investigated by the Bureau after the incident at the petrol station. A policeman is charged with unnecessary violence. The officer who deleted the mobile video of the witness Marius Stormo is being investigated. The third case has been sent to the police district for administrative assessment. – The way this video appears, it is apt to damage trust in the police. It is shocking in its content, says police director Benedicte Bjørnland to news.
