25 August 2022 at 02:51 Police chief in Uvalde fired A unanimous school board in Uvalde, where 19 students and two teachers were killed in a school shooting, has dismissed the chief of the school police. The dismissal comes in the wake of a series of allegations that Pete Arredondo made several serious mistakes during the May 24 school shooting. Arredondo has been on layoff since June and is the first police officer to lose his job after what has been described as clumsy and hesitant efforts on the part of the police. (NTB)
