A far-right milieu is said to have planned a coup d’état, writes TV2. Several German media, such as Bild, mention the police action. Homes, hunting lodges and car workshops owned by 52 people must be searched. The persons are said to belong to the Reichsbürger movement, which denies the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany as a legitimate and sovereign state. Among the 52 accused are former elite soldiers and a former AfD member of the Bundestag. The investigators had tracked down the secret alliance around a man living in Hesse, writes Bild. The federal security authorities were made aware of the suspicion of an “anti-constitutional group” at the end of August. The movement planned to take power in the country, according to a secret police document Bild has seen. With violence, “the upper echelon” of the government was to be removed, it says. The new government apparatus was to be established as a “principality”, according to German media.
