Peruvian Superfoods Take Center Stage at Thaifex Anuga Asia 2026

The Thaifex Anuga Asia 2026 fair has once again showcased the growing influence of Peruvian products in the Asian market. This prestigious event, viewed as the most significant in the food and beverage sector in Southeast Asia, launched the Peru Pavilion on May 26 in Bangkok. Here, numerous national companies exhibited an impressive array of superfoods, drinks, and natural products, highlighting Peru’s export potential.

Strengthening Ties in the Asian Market

The national participation in this year’s fair underscores the increasing interest of the Peruvian business community in solidifying its presence in Asia. By showcasing products with added value and international recognition, the delegation aimed not just to display the quality of Peruvian offerings but also to establish robust commercial relationships—securing business opportunities in a region that boasts significant economic dynamism and food demand.

The Peruvian Pavilion, organized by the Embassy of Peru in Thailand, Promperu, and several local partners including Ajethai (a firm with Peruvian roots), exemplifies a concerted effort to elevate Peru’s status in the global food market. This marks the country’s twelfth successive participation in this vital international event.

Expansion and Variety on Display

The Peruvian representation showed noteworthy growth this year. The number of participating companies increased from eight in 2025 to twelve, reflecting a strong commitment from the private sector to tap into new markets and diversify operations in Asia. Exhibitors presented a diverse range of Peruvian produce including Andean grains, corn, legumes, and cocoa derivatives, in addition to fresh, frozen, and processed fruits.

Notably, Ajethai also featured beverages such as soft drinks, carbonated drinks, and energy drinks, expanding the showcase of Peruvian brands in the Asian market. This strategic inclusion aims to solidify the presence of high-quality Peruvian products while introducing innovative offerings.

Promoting High-Quality Sustainable Products

Participation in Thaifex Anuga Asia 2026 reinforces Peru’s image as a supplier of high-quality foods and sustainable products. The offerings are characterized by organic and fair trade items, appealing to the increasing demand among conscious international consumers.

Beyond commercial exchanges, this presence serves to promote the rich ingredients integral to Peruvian gastronomy, internationally recognized for their unique flavors and health benefits. The event also paves the way for enhancing commercial partnerships with Thailand and other Southeast Asian nations, deemed strategic for Peru’s export initiatives.

Innovative Products for Healthier Choices

Among the emerging products showcased is Zooperzoo, a nutritious snack developed by sisters Claudia and Paloma Núñez, aimed at children. Responding to a gap in healthier snack options for kids, this product incorporates quinoa, kiwicha, lentils, and peas, known for their nutritional value and iron content, vital in combatting anemia.

With a texture and flavor appealing to children, Zooperzoo snacks are designed to be conveniently included in school lunches. “The main challenge was finding a balance between nutrition and flavor. If children don’t enjoy it, it simply won’t succeed,” Claudia explained about the year-long development process that included various tests and nutritional validations.

Conclusion

As the fair continues until May 30, the presence of Peruvian superfoods in Bangkok highlights not just the nation’s rich agricultural heritage but also its commitment to sustainable and nutritious food products. By building strong connections and promoting its unique offerings, Peru is effectively positioning itself as a key player in the global food industry, especially within the rapidly growing Asian market.
