The police state that a dead person has been found after the search operation in Lindesnes. – The discovery is linked to the search for the missing person, but the police specify that the person has not been identified, says Geir Ljundgqvist, head of the task force, to news. Relatives of the seven-year-old boy who was reported missing on Sunday have been informed that a discovery has been made. They found the person at 16.00 in the area by Langemyr in Lindesnes. – It was one of our search teams that found the person. This is one of the areas we have expanded with today. The police inform that the search operation has ended. The police confirm that a person has been found dead in the terrain where they have been looking for a seven-year-old. Not yet identified – We do not have a certain identity. Forensic technicians will investigate the scene, says the task leader. They have routinely created an investigation case. The police will now go through everything that has been done in connection with the search operation and take lessons from this. – You have also notified the next of kin, what kind of feedback have you received? – We have received no feedback as of now, it is far too early. The search crews found a dead person at Langemyr in Lindesnes. – Touching great commitment The police informs that volunteer search teams can turn up at Vigelandsstua for talks with representatives from the municipality. Mayor of Lindesnes Alf Erik Andersen stands and welcomes them. – It is an absolutely horrific situation. He says that he has received several buses with the volunteers returning from the search operation. – It has been a touchingly large commitment, the likes of which have hardly been seen. Gathering place created in Lyngdal On Tuesday afternoon, Lyngdal municipality announced that they opened the doors to Lyngdal church center this evening for anyone who needed a place to gather in connection with the search operation. Some have already gathered at the site. – People cry and are sad and hold each other, says church guardian in Lyngdal and Hægebostad Carl Magnus Salvesen. – We have an open offer here together with Lyngdal municipality. Everyone who wants to come here is most welcome. We probably need to stand together in grief. Lyngdal church center has an open house for anyone who needs a place to gather. The seven-year-old boy was on a trip with family members when he went missing around 1.30pm on Sunday. According to the police, the family lost contact with the boy at around 1.45pm. The family were on their way to a cabin they managed in the area. Since then, the search has taken place in a large area starting around Heddanstjønn on Vigeland in Lindesnes. There have been dog searches, listening posts as well as a lot of aerial activity.
