14 August 2024 at 07:52 Work accident: Person fell eight meters down a lift shaft The police have received a report of a work accident in a building in Oslo. A person is said to have fallen down a lift shaft. The condition of the injured person is not considered critical. In an update, the police write that the person must have fallen around eight metres. – Efforts are being made to get the person in question out of the lift shaft. The sequence of events itself is not yet known, says operations manager Per-Ivar Iversen. The emergency services arrived at the scene just before 08. At 08.22 the health and fire services are constantly working to free the person. The police are working on the scene with witness interviews and technical investigations. It is currently unclear whether safety equipment and measures have been satisfactory. The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority has been notified.
