14 August 2024 at 07:52 Work accident: Person fell 8 meters down a lift shaft A person is injured after falling down a lift shaft in a work accident, in a building on Økern in Oslo. The condition of the injured person is not considered critical. In an update, the police write that the person must have fallen around eight metres. – Efforts are being made to get the person in question out of the lift shaft. The sequence of events itself is not yet known, says operations manager Per-Ivar Iversen. The emergency services arrived at the scene just before 08. At 08.31 the police report that the person has been taken out and is being cared for by health. According to the police, it is possibly a broken bone and some abrasions. The Norwegian Labor Inspectorate has been notified and the police are working on the scene with witness interviews and technical investigations. It is currently unclear whether safety equipment and measures have been satisfactory.
