Had to evacuate the boat Over 300 people were evacuated from the ship in Ålesund on Wednesday evening, after a threatening phone call earlier in the evening resulted in a full alarm at the police. Only at 21.21 did the police report that the situation had been resolved and that the barriers at the Hurtigrute quay had been lifted. – We have established that the threat that was called in is false. We have no reason to worry about the well-being of the ship and the passengers. Hurtigruten Norge says that as of now they have no comment on a person being charged. – Unfortunate Thursday morning, Tarjei Kramviken, press officer at Hurtigruten Norway, said that it is of course unfortunate with such threats. – But it is good to see that our routines and planning worked, and that the police handled the situation quickly and professionally. The police also stated last night that the threat called in was false. – Are you considering reporting the threat message? – The case is now being processed by the police, and we have no further comment on this yet. The ship now sails on as normal. – We have not heard of any negative reactions from passengers. The situation was handled well by the captain and crew, and the atmosphere was calm and controlled. Scandic Parken in Ålesund also made a huge effort to welcome everyone when they left the ship, and that was very impressive, says Kramviken.
