A passenger train between Trondheim and Bodø has derailed. Helgelands hospital has sounded the disaster alarm, and the emergency services are on the scene. The rescue helicopter is on its way. According to the police, there will be 5 wagons and the locomotive. Passengers: – A whole lot of braking Passenger Ingvart Strand Mølster was on the train that derailed. – There is a landslide that has run into the train tracks. We are up on the train tracks now and clearly see that a rock has hit the train. He can say that everyone in the carriage is unharmed with the exception of a simple ankle injury. SJ confirms that there are no serious injuries in connection with the accident. 90 people were on the train when it derailed. – How did you experience it? – It was a hell of a brake, I thought at first. And then we just feed. We couldn’t hold on. There was suddenly just a bunch of people down by the rubbish bin. Mølster says that there are many rescuers near the train. The challenge now is to find a way down to the road from the train tracks as it is steep in the area. – But everyone is trembling. I feel that my voice and body are shaking. HRS: – No control over the extent of the damage – Our message at the moment is that it is an unclear situation where we have no control over the extent of the damage. That’s what Anja Bakken, communications advisor at the Norwegian Rescue Centre, says. – The situation is unclear. We have not received reports of major injuries, but the situation is so unclear that we cannot say that there are no injuries, because we do not know. Photo: Frank Nygård / news Sissel Trøan from Steinkjer sat on his side in the back carriage of the train. – We thought there were some animals we ran over, but it took so long, says Trøan. For her, the stop itself was dramatic, but she was not permanently injured. – I flew over a guy and broke a table in front of us. But I was lucky and got no injuries. I’m just a little shaky, says Trøan. She adds: – The emergency services have been absolutely fantastic and so have the passengers. We helped each other get down. Now they are on their way to Meiergården in Mo i Rana. There they will get a little more information. – We are only going to Rana, but there are people who are going on. They will be accommodated there until they receive more information about the incident. Arnt Egil Stjernen was also on board in the rear carriage of the train from Steinkjer to Mo. – My thoughts go mostly to those who were at the front of the train. We are very excited and hope that it has gone well with everyone. The star was going to Mo, but is now sitting on a bus for the rest of the journey. Photo: Privat After a while he could see the rockslide that had hit the train further ahead. – It was all very calm and controlled.
