Lars Okkenhaug, acting station commander at Svolvær police station, told news that people were not cooperative. It all ended with the police having to send an extra patrol to the scene. The person explains how it happened that 150 people chose to ignore calls for calm both before and during the party. My focus was somewhere else, says the person. Is there too much fixation on tourist pearls? Didn’t give up until early morning. The person says the police who arrived were nice and calm. Nevertheless, there was no rest for the revelers. Not until 05:30 could the patrols announce that the participants were about to surrender. The police failed to stop the party in Lofoten: – Nonsense in the permanent residents – Did you consider that there are 500 people living next door, and some of them were going to work today? – Yes. No. It seems very reckless, and it’s sad, replies the party participant and adds: – I think many people have a mentality from bigger cities with them, the participant continues. – Then you are used to the fact that the neighbor may be used to it.
