Across Kenya there have been protests against the government’s planned tax increases in recent days. Protesters have just entered the parliament building, which is on fire, according to Reuters. Earlier today, it was reported that the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd. The police have also set up barricades at the National Assembly and government buildings, as well as at the president’s office and residence.
