Østfolding sentenced for sexual abuse of a number of children – news Oslo og Viken – Local news, TV and radio

– This is a very serious matter. The aggrieved have dreaded the trial coming up, says lawyer Thor Anders Smith Hoen. He has been a legal aid lawyer for ten girls who have been sexually exploited by a young man from Østfold. Østfolding recently had to appear in the district court on charges of 52 matters. In total, there were 28 victims in the case – all girls between the ages of 13 and 20. Over the course of a year, the man has paid them close to one million kroner for sexual services, photos and videos. Now he has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison for rape and the purchase of sexual services. He must also pay a total of NOK 775,000 in compensation to nine of the girls. Contacted girls on Snapchat – Some of the girls notified the police. That’s how it started to roll. More and more girls were interrogated and further on, even more appeared. It almost never ended, says Smith-Hoen. The police received a tip about the man in the autumn of 2020. Soon after, he was arrested. According to the verdict, the Eastfolding has come into contact with the young girls on Snapchat. For payment, the girls have sent a number of nude photos and videos of themselves. Most of the victims come from Østfold. Most of the victims were contacted on Snapchat. Photo: DENIS CHARLET Police prosecutor Inger Skjeppe Salberg describes the investigation as extensive and time-consuming. – The police take the fact that he has had sexual contact with so many young girls very seriously. The largest part of the investigation has consisted of securing content from his social media and questioning many victims, says Salberg. Snuff in exchange for pictures There is a big difference in how much the man has paid the victims to perform sexual acts. During a few months in 2020, he paid a 17-year-old girl at least NOK 350,000 for sex, pictures and videos. A 16-year-old girl was pressured to perform sexual acts on the man. She received NOK 25,000. He also persuaded a 13-year-old girl to send sexualized pictures and videos of herself in exchange for snuff. This is an excerpt of messages the man is said to have sent to the 13-year-old girl: M: Take off the sweater, lie without a sweater, okayM: No, I want more, then you can get snuff, then I’ll go to Sweden Imrg to buy a lot of snuff for you thereM: Send a lot now and we have a dealMM:Send a selfie of the upper body, of the face and tits in the same picture It is not revealed in the judgment what the girl replied to the messages. 17 of the 28 girls have received payment from the man. The girls have received money via vipps, in cash and bank transfers. – I have been in contact with the victims throughout the period. It has been a burden for them, but now there may be an end to it. Many of them probably hope so, says legal aid lawyer Smith-Hoen. Believes to remember minimally In court, the now convicted man explained that he does not remember anything in particular of the many assaults. In the judgment, it appears that he trusts that the aggrieved parties have explained themselves correctly, and that the police investigation has clarified what has happened. The man’s defender Tom Brattbak informs news that his client will not appeal the verdict. He does not wish to comment further on the matter. The court acquitted the young Eastfolding man of three of the conditions he was accused of: Getting a 16-year-old girl to send a video in which she performed sexual acts with herself. He got a 16-year-old girl to send him sexualized pictures of herself in a bikini. Paid NOK 90,000 to a girl of the same age so that she would not contact the police after he had pressured her to perform sexual acts on him. – The prosecution is satisfied that the defendant has been convicted of the vast majority of charges in line with the prosecution decision, says police attorney Inger Skjeppe Salberg.
