Among other things, she was charged with high treason, conspiracy to seize power and having started and led an extremist organisation. Tikhanovskaja has been living in exile for the past few years. She took over the role of opposition leader after her husband, Sergej Tikhanovsky, was imprisoned before the 2020 election. He was sentenced the following year to 18 years in prison. (NTB)
