Swedish police have started an investigation with suspicion of, among other things, negligent homicide and negligent management of bodily harm after the serious accident in the amusement park. During the press conference on Sunday afternoon, information manager Annika Troselius stated that the accident happened when the front of the train suddenly derailed. The park will now remain closed for at least seven days while the accident is investigated. – We must get to the bottom of how this happened, because it must not happen, says Troselius. The accident happened on Sunday morning. A carriage on the “Jetline” roller coaster in Gröna Lund in Stockholm derailed. – This is a terrible incident, and it cannot be described in words how we feel now, says the information manager. – Ein sorgens dag Reporter in Sveriges Radio, Simon Andren, was at the amusement park with his family. He said that he heard a loud noise and saw a wagon that had come loose. – The trolley fell or slipped at the same time as several people were thrown out and fell from a height of several metres. A total of 14 people were affected by the accident. Nine injured people have been sent to hospital, one with serious injuries, and one person has died. Three children are among the injured. – It is unclear what has happened, but several have fallen out, says duty officer Moa Hummelgård in the Swedish rescue service to Aftonbladet. The park was quickly cleared by the police after the accident. At the press conference, rescue managers said that they were at the scene of the accident in four minutes. – Today is a day of mourning for Gröna Lund, says the director of the amusement park, Jan Eriksson. She and her son had driven on Jetline just before the accident happened. She tells Swedish TV4 that they heard a bang and that they could see that the roller coaster derailed. Everything happened quickly, describe ho. – Two people fell out. One person fell on the scaffolding and got stuck. He was stuck there for a long time. Then we heard a lot of screaming. Nobody understood what had happened. Someone jumped over the fence and tried to help those who were injured. Ambulances and police came one after the other to get us out of the park, says Frammin to TV4. To investigate the accident, Troselius says they are now concentrating on taking care of both those affected by the accident and the employees at the amusement park.
