According to what news knows, a knife must have been used. The police will not confirm that. The two will be produced for remand on Sunday. Sørensen states that the boy was currently living there alone as the only youth. Sørensen emphasizes that the home was properly staffed and that “everything was in place”. – Beyond that, I can’t say much. We are in dialogue with the police who are investigating the case, he says. The boys are said to have been arrested in a residence near the crime scene. It is unknown whether it is the institution where the one boy lives. Neither Sørensen nor the police want to answer this. The two accused teenage boys had not yet been questioned on Saturday afternoon. Ola Sønju Bårnes defends the one minor boy. Want to gather young people Friday evening there was a youth club at Nodeland. The club is not far from where the violent incident took place. According to what news learns, several of the young people who participated here witnessed the violent incident. Mayor of Kristiansand Jan Oddvar Skisland (Ap) also knows this. Recreation manager in Kristiansand municipality, Sissel Høyvik Hauso, confirms that there was a youth club at Nodeland on Friday evening and that it ended at 11 p.m. – I have no knowledge of whether young people from there witnessed the violent incident, says Hauso. Much violence and vandalism among young people There has been an increase in violence and unrest in the youth environment in Kristiansand in recent months. Fights, drugs, robberies and vandalism characterize parts of the youth environment in the city. – This goes in waves. Right now we seem to be in a somewhat demanding period where some environments are a bit difficult to handle, says Kristiansand mayor Jan Oddvar Skisland. According to what news knows, there are around 20 young people, who are behind a lot. Several of them are under the care of child protection. It is not clear whether the three involved in Saturday’s violent episode are among these. But many incidents have meant that the police and the municipality spend more resources on prevention. – The municipality and the police have regular meetings. This has intensified recently. More resources from the municipality’s side have been invested in preventive work against the teenage group and the environments that are particularly demanding to deal with, says Skisland. He asks parents to talk to their children. – Talk to your young people and get as good an overview as possible of who they are with. Then it’s about following up and being as close as possible. That is usually the key, he says. Photo: Sander Heggheim / news
