An elderly man died, and several people are missing after a ten-storey hotel collapsed on Tuesday in the coastal town of Villa Gesel, local authorities and the media report. The city is located in Buenos Aires province in the east of Argentina. About 300 rescue workers, using drones and tracking dogs, searched through the ruins for survivors. The cause of the collapse is not yet known, writes AFP. According to the municipality, work was carried out at the hotel “illegally” and the authorities had already stopped it in August.
