It is the police who send out emergency alerts to all mobile phones in Norway, while the Civil Defense tests the typhoons around the country. This is a joint national notification test, which is carried out once every six months. – Such an extensive notification test will sound good, especially where many people are gathered and many devices will play sound at the same time. Therefore, feel free to share information about the notification test with those closest to you, so that as many people as possible are prepared and know that this is just a test, writes the Directorate for Community Safety and Preparedness (DSB) on the website nodvarsel.no. The emergency alert is sent out over the mobile network throughout the country, and will cause mobile phones to vibrate and play a loud sound signal. DSB encourages you to update your mobile phone to the latest software, otherwise you may not receive the test. – If you do not wish to receive the test, you must put your phone in flight mode or switch it off completely in good time before and after 12 o’clock on 12 June. Silent, low sound, muted notification and the like are overridden, says DSB. Published 10.06.2024, at 12.27 Updated 10.06.2024, at 12.28
