The 86-year-old from Fredrikstad remembers everything from the cup final in 1966. Fredrikstad won 3–2 against the Oslo team Lyn. He looks at the pictures and suddenly remembers all the kicks, the players and the atmosphere. He has been in the stands at Ullevaal since he was a child. The first cup final he saw with FFK was already in 1950. – It was an experience for me as a little boy of twelve to be allowed to travel in and watch Fredrikstad beat Brann 3-0, says the enthusiastic man. It is said that home is where the heart is, but for him the heart is Fredrikstad’s football club. – It is very fun to be there and see Fredrikstad fight at the top of the Norwegian cup, he says. Realizes that this may be the last chance. On Saturday, Fredrikstad and Molde come together for another cup final in football at the Ullevaal stadium in Oslo. The Aristocrats can claim their 12th cup gold. 18 years have passed since Fredrikstad last played in the cup final. The 86-year-old understands that this opportunity could be his last, at least if it will be as many years until the next time the red and whites are in the final. He has seen all 10 cup finals with FFK after the Second World War. – So I’m 86. If it’s going to be 18 years until the next final, then I have to reckon that it’s either angels or we’re running and forging steel. There is no middle ground. But what he doesn’t talk about so much are the finals in which the team from the neighboring town of Sarpsborg has been involved. In both 2015 and 2017, he still traveled to Ullevaal to see Sarpsborg 08. – It’s about the interest in being there where the finals take place. Odd Løkkevik gets ready with his combat outfit. – Looking forward to it like a child For Fredrikstad Football Club, older supporters are at least as important as the younger ones. – No one is more important than the others. A football club includes both the oldest and the youngest, and that is what makes football so popular. Instead, it is the familiar feeling of being in place, where he has “always” been, that fills him with energy. – If my son can help me get up on the stands, then it will be fine. I almost broke my back in August, but I’ve been getting better, especially in the last few weeks. He thinks Fredrikstad will win the match against Molde. – I’m looking forward to it like a child.
