19 October 2023 at 10:31 NVE expects high electricity prices The Norwegian Directorate of Water Resources and Energy (NVE) expects that electricity prices in Norway in 2030 will be higher than we were used to before 2021. The Directorate today presented its long-term power market analysis for 2023. The report is an analysis of expected development in the power markets in Norway and Europe until 2040. Measured in 2022 kroner, NVE estimates that the average power price in Norway will be around 80 øre/kWh in 2030. – A weak Norwegian power balance and high expected prices for gas and CO2 will keep prices high. From 2030 to 2040, we will bring in more renewable power production both in Norway and in the countries around us. NVE expects that power prices will then fall, writes NVE.
