The coastal culture boat “Pia Marie” was raised from Aursfjorden on Monday. It is bilged before it is taken on to a shipyard in Senja. This is what Johan Robertsen tells news. He is the leader of the Aursfjord coastal team, which has spent hours restoring and keeping the boat intact. The coastal boat was a 52-foot restored gem from 1982. The one used to teach coastal culture to school classes and other interested parties. Now they hope the boat was not so damaged by the extreme weather “Ingunn” that they have to say goodbye to it. But we have achieved the most important thing, namely getting the boat up – so that it is not left lying around for fear and horror. Then we’ll see what the future can bring, he says. The Coastal Culture Association created a Spleis to get money to try and save the boat. – There has been a fantastic response. I am very moved, says Robertsen. Around 3,000 damages to buildings, houses and contents have so far been registered as a result of the extreme weather “Ingunn”.
