21 August 2022 at 14:56 VG: Norwegians may have been affected by terror in Mogadishu The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms to VG that they have received reports that one or more Norwegians were at the Hayat hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu. The hotel was subjected to an attack by the Islamist group Al-Shabab on the night of Saturday. It took over 30 hours for the Somali police and military to gain control of the situation. 21 people have so far been confirmed killed. It is not known whether any of these are Norwegian citizens.
