2 July 2024 at 10:20 PST: Norwegian citizen arrested for attempted espionage for the benefit of China A Norwegian citizen was arrested by PST on Monday this week. The person is charged with attempted espionage for the benefit of China, PST informs NTB. Senior adviser Eirik Veum in the Norwegian Police’s security service (PST) tells NTB that the person has been charged with breaching section 122 of the Criminal Code, which includes serious intelligence activities against state secrets, and section 126, which includes other illegal intelligence. – The accused will be produced for custody in the Oslo district court on Tuesday 2 July at 1 pm, says Veum. PST will probably ask for closed doors during the detention meeting. Police prosecutor Thomas Blom in PST will give a briefing to the press following the detention meeting in the district court.
