He has previously coached Petter Northug. – I am really looking forward to getting started and getting to know the athletes, Sjur Ole and the others in the support apparatus, Kveen says to NRK. He says that it has been a long and thorough process he has been through, but is proud and happy that the choice fell on him. The first training session is at Sognefjellet next weekend, and there Kveen will get an overview of the training group, before he takes on the task of getting Norwegian women’s cross-country skiing to the highest level, together with Svarstad. – I know Sjur Ole a little from before. And it is an extra motivating factor to jump into this here, that I know that Sjur Ole is a very positive and committed person. In that way, we are quite similar, so I think we will work well for each other and create a good environment in the group, he says. Torgeir Bjørn thinks it is important to get a Trøndelag player into the coaching team of the elite team. Kveen lives in Meråker. – He was one of the biggest candidates for the job. Especially the fact that we get a Trønder into the team, and have good chemistry with Svarstad, is crucial here. We will have a World Cup in Trondheim in just under three years, and much of the drive-up will be in the Trondheim area, Bjørn tells NRK.
