This is according to the head of communications in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuva Bergfald, to news. – It is reported that the border will reopen today, but unfortunately Norwegian citizens are not on the list of foreign nationals who will be able to cross the border today, she says. She says that it is disappointing not to be able to help Norwegian citizens out. – We are very worried about our fellow citizens and we have compassion for the strain this is on families and friends in Norway, she says. Bergfald says that it is a large logistical operation where each individual’s status and documents are carefully reviewed. It happens in the middle of a war zone, where the roads to the border and the border station itself have been hit by bomb attacks. There are around 7,000-8,000 foreign citizens in Gaza. So far, just over 2,000 have been allowed to cross the border into Egypt. None of the approximately 250 Norwegian citizens in Gaza have been allowed to leave so far.
