Putin went on to say that no evidence has been found that Priogzhin’s plane was hit by any “external hit”. The plane crash occurred two months after Prigozhin and the mercenary group Wagner led a short-lived rebellion against the Russian military leadership. Russian authorities have rejected claims that they caused the plane crash. However, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the investigation may indicate that the plane crashed as a result of a premeditated act. (NTB)
