The investigation is still ongoing, says Germany’s Attorney General Peter Frank to the newspaper Die Welt. Two research ships have taken part in the investigations around the places where the two Russian gas pipelines were blown up, and samples have been taken both from the seabed, the water and the pipes. According to Frank, the area is also documented in detail. – We are now carrying out a forensic assessment of all this, he says. The Swedish authorities concluded in November that the two gas pipelines were exposed to sabotage, but have not named the culprits. The explosions took place in international waters, but in the Danish and Swedish economic zone. Both countries therefore carry out their own investigations.
