Nintendo Switch 2: Must-have games to buy right away with your console! Teknomers.

On June 5th, the long-awaited  Nintendo Switch 2  launches, igniting excitement among gamers worldwide. Many lucky fans have already secured their console through preorders, while others will eagerly await their chance to join in on the fun. However, a console is more than just hardware—it’s the collection of games that truly brings it to life. Let’s explore the  exclusive titles  available from day one for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Exclusive Titles for Nintendo Switch 2

Starting off, there are two  rare exclusive games  developed by Nintendo for this latest console. The most talked-about title is Mario Kart World, an ambitious new installment from one of the franchise’s most beloved series. Priced between €80 and €90 for both digital and physical formats (or bundled with the console), this game introduces a highly anticipated interconnected world where up to  24 players  can compete against each other. However, fans should be aware of a certain  game mode  missing at launch, which has led to some disappointment.

Another significant title, albeit lacking a new  Zelda  or  Mario  installment, is Donkey Kong Bananza. Priced similarly at €70 or €80, this game offers a new  3D  adventure for the jungle king, designed to take full advantage of the Switch 2’s capabilities.

Alongside these major exclusives, there’s a third title called Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, available at just €10. This game combines an interactive tour showcasing the console’s capabilities with a mini-game experience. While it may not be a must-have, investing in  Mario Kart World  and/or  Donkey Kong Bananza  seems like the best option, especially if you can wait for reviews or price drops.

Legacy Games Enhanced or Re-released

To compensate for the relatively short list of new titles, Nintendo will carry over numerous  previous games  from the first Switch to its successor. Each game might be a simple port, but Nintendo also offers  optional upgrades  for anyone who wants enhanced graphics or additional features, at prices ranging from €0, €10, or €20 based on the content offered. If you own these games on the original Switch, you won’t need to repurchase them.

Notable examples include both  Legend of Zelda  titles and favorites like  Super Mario Party Jamboree .  Nostalgia  seekers will also be intrigued by games such as  Cyberpunk 2077 ,  Street Fighter 6 ,  Hogwarts Legacy ,  Split Fiction ,  Fortnite ,  Mario Odyssey ,  No Man’s Sky , and  Civilization VII . Each title caters to different preferences, but  Split Fiction  is a fantastic choice for two players, while revisiting  Zelda  with more power can only enhance the experience.

The Virtual Console

If you subscribe to one of  Nintendo Online’s  plans, you’ll also be able to rediscover classic games from the NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, and Game Boy Advance.  Sega  fans will be thrilled to see the Sega Megadrive included as well. And the most exciting addition is that the power of the Switch 2 allows for the emulation of titles from the  Nintendo Gamecube , including classics like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, and Pokemon XD. Some of these titles may receive enhancements, with  F-Zero GX  now playable in multiplayer mode online.
