1 October 2023 at 18:50 Nightmare night for Viking – first league loss in four months Molde wreaked havoc at home tonight when they secured a 4-0 victory over Viking. Viking lost in dramatic fashion 3-4 at home against Molde on 4 June. From being in the middle of the table, they have played all the way up to the top of the table after twelve wins and one draw in the next 13 games in the Eliteserien, but on Sunday it was once again Molde who were the opponent. There, they had absolutely no chance and Molde won 4-0 at home. The pain also got worse after half an hour in the first half when center back champion David Brekalo had to leave after being hit. Molde scored the first goal after 10 minutes of play. A short time later, Kristian Eriksen doubled the lead. In the second half, the goals came like pearls on a string, when Kristoffer Haugen increased the lead further and Magnus Wolff Eikrem finally put it on to make it 4-0. With seven rounds remaining, Molde is seven points behind Viking. Bodø/Glimt, who meet Strømsgodset later on Sunday, can take over the top of the table with a win.
