The mediation inquiry started on Thursday morning. The deadline expires at midnight Friday night. The danger of a strike is real, emphasizes Lise Olsen, head of negotiations and deputy head of LO Stat. She has announced a first strike for 495 members of Creo and the Norwegian Civil Servants Association (NTL). The mediation comprises a total of 628 members in the two unions. The mediation applies to people who work with TV and radio production, as well as administration in news. Creo-organized members of the Broadcasting Orchestra are also included in the settlement, the association informs NTB. TV and radio production For the public, a strike can lead to reduced supply, but Olsen does not have an overview of the specific consequences of a strike. She emphasizes that news operates with different salary calculations for different groups of employees, and that over time it has accumulated salary differences that they want evened out. She and deputy leader Fredrik Oftebro in the Norwegian Civil Servants Association (NTL) reckon that mediation will be demanding. – Some of our members are lagging behind in terms of pay due to news’s pay policy.
