The police in the South-East arrested and charged a man in his 20s on Thursday for the murder of Jonas Aarseth Henriksen. He is a Norwegian citizen. The arrest took place in the Innlandet police district on Thursday morning. He has now been taken to the police station in Drammen. – We are having a hard and demanding time. Police prosecutor Tine Henriksen confirmed at a press conference on Thursday that the man is known to the police and that he has been convicted a number of times. – This arrest is, as we see it, an important step forward in the investigation, says Henriksen. The man will be produced for remand either Friday or Saturday, says Henriksen. The accused is scheduled to be questioned this evening. The police state that the man is not one of those who have been questioned in the case previously. The police cannot rule out more arrests in the case. – For the sake of the investigation, we cannot say anything about what evidence makes us suspect the accused of the murder. According to the man’s lawyer Ellen Tvedten Jorem, the accused denies criminal guilt. – I have just had my first conversation with my client, and he is absolutely clear that he has nothing to do with the murder, she says. Videos show vandalism Since the murder, the police have carried out investigations at and in the area around the cabin, which is sheltered in the forest. Jonas was found murdered on 17 August.
