A Europe that has too little energy in the run-up to winter is hit again by another sharp jump in gas prices. The increase of more than 30 percent in the future prices of natural gas comes on Monday morning after Russia announced before the weekend that the gas pipeline Nord Stream 1 will be closed, writes the Bloomberg news agency. Nord Stream 1 is the largest and most important gas pipeline that delivers natural gas to Europe from Russia. It is unclear if and when the line will reopen.
