The new party, which will be called Forward, will initially be led by the former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and by the former Republican governor of New Jersey, Christine Todd Whiteman, reports the Reuters news agency. During the autumn, events will be held in around 20 cities to gather support and present the new party’s programme. The official launch will take place in Houston, Texas on 24 September, while the first national meeting will be held next summer, NTB writes.
