22 April 2023 at 14:56 Golberg and Østberg won the anniversary edition of the Skarverennet Pål Golberg sprinted past Simen Hegstad Krüger and won the 37 kilometer long Skarverennet on Saturday. In the women’s class, Ingvild Flugstad Østberg won by far. It was an exciting finish in the men’s race between Finse and Ustaoset. Golberg had the strongest sprint and beat last year’s winner Krüger by four tenths of a second. Third place went to Mattis Stenshagen. He was beaten by 52.5 seconds by Golberg. Østberg had a controlled path to victory in the women’s class and distanced runner-up Astrid Øyre Slind by over two minutes. 25 seconds behind Slind, Emilie Fleten finished in 3rd place. Saturday’s edition was number 50 in the race’s history, and the conditions could hardly have been better with bright blue sun and superb weather for the total of 9,200 runners on the starting line.
