The demonstrators are holding white bolts to symbolize Palestinian parents and siblings asking for Palestinian children to be killed. They demand that Israel be banned from the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024. The petition “Ban Israel from Eurovision”, created by the Norwegian singer and artist Marthe Valle, has almost 18,900 signatures. The Broadcasting Council discussed Israel’s participation in Eurovision on Thursday. The broadcaster has advised against a boycott of Israeli participation in the song contest. – Advocating for a boycott of Israel will weaken news’s credibility as a news broadcaster, she said, adding that people have every right to protest and disagree with news’s assessment. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has said that it is out of the question to exclude Israel from Eurovision. This year the competition will be held in Malmö in Sweden.
